Metsähovi joined international e-Callisto measurement network

In early September Metsähovi joined the international e-Callisto measurement network to monitor the Sun's broadband radio bursts in the metric and desimetric scale.
In early September Metsähovi joined the international e-Callisto measurement network to monitor the Sun's broadband radio bursts in the metric and desimetric scale. For this purpose a new measurement equipment was installed. e-Callisto enables the versatile and broadband monitoring of the Sun in the radio frequencies. The first results were received about three weeks after the installation.
The measurement data is analyzed at the University of Technology in Zurich. Every station measures with a frequency that is best when taking into consideration the local RFI. E-Callisto is growing to become a network that covers the whole globe and is able to measure 24 hours a day every day. Because the Metsähovi area is free of RFI it brings a valuable addition to the e-Callisto network.
